Should I use an IR Touchscreen?

IR is one of the common touchscreen technologies in the world, the word “IR” is an abbreviation of Infrared.

 

IR screen use IR emitters and receivers to create an invisible grid of light beams across the screen.

When an object interrupts the invisible infrared light beam, the sensors can locate the touch point.

Impervious to surface scratches

Cons:

Easy to be activated by mistake

Dust, oil, or grease buildup on screen or frame could causing malfunction

Sensitive to water, snow, rain

May be sensitive to ambient light interference
